The 4th Stage of Fujitsu Components Group's "Environmental Protection Program"

May 24, 2008 (5th Edition)


Fujitsu Components Group established the Environmental Programs to provide concrete objectives for implementing environmental policies. Beginning in fiscal 2007 Environmental Protection Program (the 4th stage) has been revised and improved.

Increase Offering of Eco-Friendly Products

  • Increase the number of so-called Super Green Products (environmentally more friendly products), which carry top-class environmental characteristics, by at least 20% of all newly developed green products in Fujitsu Components Group by the end of fiscal 2009.
  • Achieve Factor 1.2 eco-efficiency for Green Products that are part of the newly developed Thermal Printers by the end of fiscal 2009 compared to products developed in fiscal 2005.

Note: Eco-efficiency Factor is the ratio of Service (New product/Old product) per Environmental loads (New product/Old product).

Global Warming Countermeasures and Environmental Activities in our Business Sites

  • Reduce CO2 emissions created by energy consumption not exceeding 106% the fiscal 2005 level (17,213t-CO2) by the end of fiscal 2010.
  • Reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) 22% below the fiscal 2005 level (17,110kg) by the end of fiscal 2009.
  • Reduce generation of waste not exceeding 103% the fiscal 2005 level (956t) by the end of fiscal 2009.

Reinforcing Risk Management

  • To reinforce environmental measures throughout the supply chain:
    1. Support to improve supplier's environmental management system (EMS).
    2. Support to improve supplier's environmental hazardous substances management.

Environmental and Social Contribution

  • Promote environmental activities in local communities.
  • Each business site shall contribute to social activities in their local community at least once a year.
